Office Solutions for the Evolving Business by Dr. Jonathan Fader

Dr. Jonathan Fader is partner at City Space Suites, a full-service office rental community
located in New York City.
offers virtual, short- and long-term leases on
fully furnished, business ready offices.

With more and more companies operating completely online and needing little more
than an Internet connection to begin work processes, many new businesses have avoided
spending on office space in an effort to keep costs low and maintain flexibility for the
unknown road ahead.

Often times, going without office space in order to save can have a negative impact on
start ups by lowering productivity rates and limiting their ability to conduct meetings in
a professional work space and environment. In an effort to give start up firms the same
opportunities as large corporations, innovative office solutions have been created to
give companies the flexibility and credibility they require without breaking the bank.

Here is a list of just some of the many flexible and affordable options that new and small
business owners should consider when conducting their office search:

Shared Work Space: Tired of working in cramped coffee houses and find yourself
unproductive in your home environment? Companies can either rent individual work
spaces that are often configured in open, cubicle style designs or rent out private offices,
varying in size, that share a common receptionist and conference room. These shared
work spaces offer companies flexible, short-term leases and the ability to quickly expand
and contract depending on business needs.

Part-Time Work Space: Have a meeting and only need to rent space for the day? Doing
business out of town for a month or two and need a short-term office lease? Part-time
work spaces allow you to rent offices by the hour, day, week, or month giving companies
easy access to the space they need, when they need it.

Virtual Assistant: Need the professional appearance of a fully staffed office while
having an experienced office assistant help with everyday business needs? Virtual
assistants will answer and direct all incoming calls while giving you full administrative
support so that you can focus on the important task of growing your business.

Virtual Office: Need a prestigious address for website and marketing materials? Virtual
office packages not only gives you a professional mailing address, but handles all
incoming mail for your convenience.

Conference Room Rental: Have an important presentation for new clients that you need
to impress? Rent a fully equipped conference room by the hour to give you an edge over
your competition and land that business deal.

With these non-traditional office solutions, companies of all sizes can efficiently meet
their needs while maintaining flexibility and minimizing overall expenditures. Shared
work spaces not only provide business owners an environment overflowing with
resources and networking opportunities, but the potential for a spike in your team’s level
of productivity.

Make sure you do the research on the neighborhood your looking at. There is no need to
overspend on expensive long-term rentals when you can receive the same services for a
largely reduced price tag and the added bonus of working in a community of like-minded
individuals. Often times landlords are willing to take a shorter lease term, you just need
to ask.

Finding the right office space can seem like a daunting task, but armed with information
about the types of spaces available, you can protect yourself from overspending on office
rentals and find the best deal that satisfies all of your company’s needs.

Do You Need A Business Mentor? Ask Dan Lyons

Dan Lyons is a highly qualified professional that is specialized in Public Administration (Masters Degree) and Business administration (MBA). He was in the U.S Army and has been involved in building or managing business operations all his life.

Dan writes business plans and trains sales people, as well as he provides remote training/management by webinar and VoIP conferencing.

He is an expert in Event Marketing and Promotions, Telemarketing Operations, and Start-up operations, and he is available for public speaking events by web conference or personal appearance.

You can learn more about Dan on ABusinessMentor.com

What is a Business Mentor? Why do I need one?

Somebody asked me that question not too long ago, and it really struck home. How many people were asking themselves the same question? And, just how do I answer it?

The definition from Dictionary.com is:

men•tor /'menter, -tor/

–noun

1.a wise and trusted counselor or teacher.

2.an influential senior sponsor or supporter.

Okay, that's clear enough. Now, 'Why do I need One?'

Have you ever had any question about your business ideas, about your chances of success, about your own ability to become a successful business owner, any question at all that started with words like these:

1) How do I....?

2) How can I tell if .......?

3) What happens when .....?

4) Where do I find ......?

5) When do I ....?

Okay, that was probably unfair; but it certainly highlights why you might need a mentor!

You can 'learn from your mistakes' (and we all make mistakes!). Or you can use the experience and knowledge someone has gained over years working in business start-ups, business planning, sales and marketing, and specialty growth/development operations, and AVOID making the same costly mistakes!

First, I strongly urge you to INVESTIGATE. Trust is a key factor in mentoring. You have no way to decide that hiring any given consultant or mentor is the right decision. Learn everything you can about a prospective mentor before you pay hard earned dollars for thier advice. Don't look for 'testimonials'; a good professional won't use them. Client confidentiality is a key factor for a mentor/consultant.

Let me offer one of my favorite 'rules': 'Time is the only irreplaceable asset we have...Once gone, it is gone forever'. Harsh, perhaps, but certainly true. The longer you wait to get started, the longer you wait to reach the goal. Another question to consider: 'If you do nothing, what will change between now and next week except the date?'

The key to making things happen is to take action! But, aimless action is worse than lethargy. You NEED a plan; and the more experience and outright knowledge you can bring to bear on the plan, the more likely it will lead in the right direction. If you are going to start a business, build a sales team, develop a business plan, apply for funding, 'take the next step', every day you wait is costing you money.

Nobody is going to make it happen FOR you!

You are the bottom line in your success.

And my Favorite Analogy: ( I Like Poker - So much like Business )

If you DO NOT bet, you cannot win!

If you PLACE a bet, you can ALWAYS lose!

The secret then, is long term: Never bet against the odds, and never bet more at one time than you can afford to lose. Of course, the more you know ABOUT the odds, the better your chances!
